Hi. I am Catholic and not really practicing. When I was 18 I went to church with a friend of mine for Easter and it was a non-denominational church. I enjoyed it because we prayed and celebrated, but it wasn't as constricting. It was more spiritual. I wasn't sure how to find out about more churches in the area to go to. Is there a special name for the non-denominational "religion" (not sure if it's called that, and don't mean to offend anyone) How would I go about trying to find one in my area? I thought that this might be a nice alternative to look into as my husband is Jewish. And maybe if we both like it we can bring our kids there because I want my kids to have faith and spirituality no matter what religion it is.
Basically I am wondering if there is a certain name that those churches go by (if I were to look in the phone book, what would I look under) and does anyone here go to those type of churches.
I hope this wasn't too confusing... Thanks to anyone who knows what I'm talking about! :)

Most of the non-denominational churches in my area go by "Community Church" or just "Such-and-Such Fellowship."
I hope you find the church you are looking for!!
DH and I are both born and raised Catholics but not necessarily practicing. We have been to a few non-denominational services and we loved them! They are full of energy and the sermons are so worth listening to.
Let us know whatyou find out!!
Unitarian - do a search and find one near you. Some of them are Christian based, but not very strict - and then most of them are simply environmental and politially active in thier community and, after all, isn't that what most of us desire from going to 'church' - the feeling of community?
