QOTW 9/4 - Quantum thought

I recently received the DVD of "What the Bleep Do We Know?" as a gift.  If you haven't seen it yet, you are missing a great spiritual and mental journey!

One of the first of many theories presented is that we have been conditioned to believe that the external world is more "real" than the internal world.  Quantum thought says that the opposite is true, that the internal world of possible thought and experience is in fact, "real" and we only see what the internal world allows us to see in the external world.

Deep, I know...   But what do you think?

you are far from being alone, many of us may be from
the same soul group and connect on earth wherever we can.
What do you think? Love, Leila

I certainly didn't mean to offend or exclude anyone by my previous post.

Thanks for sharing this. That DVD sounds interesting... ;) We've just given up our movie rental memberships to save $$$, but when I have a few bucks to spend, I'll add this to my list. :P

On a debate board we are debating a scientific conclusion of a study that all homeopathic remedies are "placebos" and have no valid healing properties. In the debate people seemed to fall to one side or the other -- total faith and belief in western medicine and "science" and those who believe there is more to healing than drugs with side effects and/or surgery or other invasive treatments of symptoms.

It seems to me a true healer (and I've met true healers in the western medicine structure as well as the holistic structure) will incorporate both. Not just the physical world outside ourselves, but the inner realms within us, as well. Otherwise, how can we see the whole picture?

I have often felt hamstrung through my life, at different times, when I buy into just the physical 3-dimensional world I see through my 5 senses. Because I know there is much more than that operating in my life. Through my Pagan path I have learned to appreciate that "inner path" and "inner reality" and come to know and trust in its validity -- and it's great power for healing and affecting my life.

"If this is true, much of the world is on the wrong track. Bigger isn't better, it is insignificant in the cosmic scheme."

We have following the paradigm that we are powerless in our "spiritual" or inner selves, and that prayer is something we send out, but that we have no power within to effect reality, to change it to what we know it should be. Yet we have this outlook of physical reality, of competition vs. cooperation, of power over instead of power with, and we are socialized to feel powerless and and tiny in the scheme of the Universe. So we let leaders take us where we don't want to go: destruction of the planet, disempowerment of people, worship of quantity over quality. Greed over sharing. Because we have been conditioned to believe we can't make a difference. Only a very few break out of this mindset and become world spiritual leaders, who give people hope and belief in the power to change.

I found that once I believed I was not "just a supplicant" but that I had also been born with some of that power of the Universe, within me, in my Spirit, did I realize I can change my life, it's reality, as well as myself. To grow and to evolve. It is awesome to contemplate if all Witches everywhere, combined their powers to focus on peace, healing, cooperation, compassion, and prayers of everyone else, with empowerment to unite and make our works and prayers become not just begging for help, but works of magic to summon the powers of the Universe, how much we could change!

Just some mullling thoughts of my own... :P

I've heard this theory before and this is one of those cases when my heart tells me that it is true but my head says it's not. It is something I would really like to 100% believe in but I struggle with it logically. I guess I'm just not ready to make that quantum leap yet.

Add to your mulling thoughts, that we have been conditioned by most Christian churches to think of god/goddess/power as something separate and outside of ourselves, or "up there."

The worship of patriarchal, overt male power mongering and the devaluation of more "feminine" qualities has crippled us, too. Lack of understanding of the Tao Circle, the need for the flowing and blending of light and dark, male and female energies, of which the Universe is made. Great spiritual and psychic imbalance. No wonder everything has gone to such a mess... Gypsy
