Reverend Ike. He was too handsome for words. He was an african-american preacher I'd always see him in my mother's magazines. I wouldn't say "wolf in sheep's clothing", but ...
Then, there are tent revivials all over the country. Some men of the cloth "touch" a soul and they "walk" or are healed. I'm not sure what to take of it. I suppose it could happen (?)
Today we had(ve) Jim Bakker, Billy Graham, Al Sharpton, Joyce Meyer, and many others. I don't know them all. I see some of them sporadically. Some seem God fearing, and some (In my opinion) are after more than a parisioner's soul. (Political or social standings)
Do you have an opinion on this? Do you follow any of them? Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

I've always (even as a child) believed they were all frauds, after money, fame and glory.
The only evangelist I have any respect for at all is Billy Graham.
make-up worse than Tammy Faye Baker
Oh my!
Some are authentic and some are not. They're just like people, friends, bosses, etc. How would you be able to tell which from which? There are true healers on the earth. I personally don't know any, but I wouldn't want to cast judgement on any of them, just in case :)

The only name that means anything to me is Billy Graham. I remember hearing his name lots of times when I was a kid, but didn't know anything about him other than he gave talks (sermons I guess they were). We don't tend to go in for things in quite the same way here, in fact it is more unusual to find someone who actually attends church in this country than someone who does, so I don't really have an opinion.
