What are your Halloween decorating tricks, spoofs and secrets?

Do you have as much fun dressing up as your kids?

Do you try to scare Trick or Treaters?

Do you think Halloween should be discouraged because of the negative connotations associated with 'evil' and 'devil worshipping'? Would a general 'Harvest Festival be more acceptible?

Do you believe in The Great Pumpkin?

boo!

What are your Halloween decorating tricks, spoofs and secrets?

Don't dust or knock down cobwebs for two months before Halloween ... my house is looking pretty spooky and I don't even have out decorations! LOL! I usually just draw on the faces of the jack-o-lanterns so they last longer and then just turn them around for Thanksgiving.

Do you have as much fun dressing up as your kids?

Probably more

Do you try to scare Trick or Treaters?

no, I never liked laughing when someone was scared and I don't like being scared myself so I just ooo and ahhh over their costumes and if they are trying to be scary, I play along. My DH is always trying to scare me, he gets a kick out of creeping up behind me and I HATE it!

Do you think Halloween should be discouraged because of the negative connotations associated with 'evil' and 'devil worshipping'? Would a general 'Harvest Festival be more acceptible?

No way. It's one of the oldest holidays in the world, steeped in rich history. I think people should get over their prejudices about it, educate themselves and just lighten up and have a little fun. We don't need any more wet blankets in the world. Instead of people being worried about all these influences on their children, they should take the time to teach their children what they want them to understand and let them know that not everyone in the world will agree with them but that's the beauty of humanity. Be true to yourself and tolerant of others. I can't understand what all these people are afraid of. Besides, we have a harvest festival in November ... Thanksgiving.

Do you believe in The Great Pumpkin?

Yes, he's married to Ginger Cookie! LOL!

What are your Halloween decorating tricks, spoofs and secrets?
I have a spooky Halloween village (similar to the Christmas village)that I put out.

Do you have as much fun dressing up as your kids?
No kids, but I love dressing up!

Do you try to scare Trick or Treaters?
No. I love to see the kids having fun!

If some people don't wish to participate that's fine with me. Its become a pretty secular holiday. It has great meaning to me and I celebrate the way I believe. I just don't like seeing a small group ruining the fun for everyone else.

Do you believe in The Great Pumpkin?
Oh yes! Unfortunately, I always have trouble finding a pumpkin patch with enough sincerity!

I love Halloween! It's a wonderful old holiday and I wish people would just relax and just enjoy it and not spread hateful misinformation about it. It's also a spiritual holiday for me, the Wiccan New Year. We also remember our dead loved ones. We have a harvest meal, decorate, hand out candy to tricker or treaters. Later we read Tarot cards or stones to see what the New Year may hold for us. :)) As for the Great Pumpkin, I understand he's taken. :D Gypsy

What are your Halloween decorating tricks, spoofs and secrets? I'll admit, I don't do much. I carved 2 pumpkins, put some window clings in my daughter's window, and put a few little knick-knack things up in my living room. Boring!

Do you have as much fun dressing up as your kids? This year I did!!

Do you try to scare Trick or Treaters? No, that's so mean! LoL

this year we ran out of time for decorating :( but i like cobwebs, black curtains, fog machines (yes, i have one LOL) cauldrons...anything i can get my hands on really. one year i threw a halloween party and served a bunch of "alein dishes" from my star trek cookbook (oh, i'm such a dork LOL). the food scared the heck outta everbody!

Do you have as much fun dressing up as your kids? abso-freakin'-lutly! i'm a costume nut!

Do you try to scare Trick or Treaters? this will be my first year to have trick or treaters..and as i said we didn't have much time to prepare this year. next year however, we've planned to have a creepy haunted walk up to our door. you gota go through it to get the candy ;)
