Spirituality is like a medicine

Spirituality is like a medicine.
To heal the illness,
it is not sufficient
to look at the medicine
and talk about it:
You have to digest it.

~~Dalai Lama

Saw this quote by the Dalai Lama today. It made me think about some of our conversations here, of trying to find a personal spiritual path, or renew ourselves with the one we have that's gone "stale" for us, etc. It brought up for me how much better my life seems to move and flow, if I make time for my spiritual practice on a daily basis. And talk to my Goddess daily. Not just to ask for help with "stuff" but just to BE with Her, you know? Puts a whole different dimension into my life.

When I forget to "digest," I am much more "empty," feeling like part of the rat race, not happy with what's going on, feeling more frustrated, not having the inner stamina to work through life problems that arise, etc.

Yes, I think "digesting" is very important. :D

How do you "digest?"

thanks so much for the quote. I am famous for looking at it and talking about it. ah to digest. what a great way to put it. I have not been connecting internally or with my guides. and how powerful that can be to your state of mind. after today I am reminded how much power these simple things have in our lives if we let them.

for me today I will "digest" by acknowledging the power of my guides and the intuition and strengths within me.

thank you Gypsy

For me it's in the quiet, lighting the candles, talking to the guides, God etc being still to feel connected. So, stillness may be how I digest. Love, Leila
