Idle Musings...

I've been pondering this post since yesterday, and honestly I'm still not sure what my point is or how to write it.  LOL  But I feel compelled to share all the same.

We spent the day yesterday with friends at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  I went with the only expectation being a fun day for everyone.  Certainly nothing deep or spiritual.  Much to my surprise, I found myself completely lost in wonder in the Drifters (jellyfish) exhibit.  I've always been enchanted by jellies with their slow, graceful movement and unique shape, but this one particular variety really took my breath away.  They're called Australian Blue Dotted I think.  The bell is a gorgeous ice blue, with little white dots reminscient of antique hobnail glass, and the... tentacles? are thick, frilly white like intricate lace.

I was reminded of a children's book by Cynthia Rylant called The Dreamer.  In it she describes the Creation of our world by a Divine Artist who becomes so caught up in bringing his daydreams to life that he creates an entire new world and all the beings on it, simply out of a Love for creative expression.  As I looked at these jellies, and thought about the many forms of just fish, not to mention other creatures, I too saw Spirit as a passionate artist.  I found myself with a nenewed sense of faith and a stronger belief than ever that we were Created with purpose.

So my question is, have you ever had a similar experience?  Where something struck you so profoundly out of the blue?  Share with us!  Relive it with us and recapture that sense of wonder!

Several years ago, I drove to my high school reunion in New Jersey over Thanksgiving.

Beautiful Ginger, sometimes I may fine it simply in the sunset, a surprise while I drive home or a rainbow. The sky holds such wonderment for me. there must be a message in it for us. Love, leila
