twice a subject has come up, that really sparked everybody's response and it is very interesting to read them.. It also helps I feel, that it gives one another the feeling of not being alone in/with it.. and feeling supported!
so what do you hate, with or without a passion?
I am going to think about this.. for I know there are some on my list too, but thought to start it off first.

As for the ignorance, apathy and George Bush situations, I don't hate...I dislike what is going on. I feel it's turned into a fight of good and evil and who is to say who is evil and good? We can't force our Democracy on another country no matter how long we stay there and, just because it works for us, we can't say it will work for them. Right now, we are in a cycle. The fear of 9/11 made our country scared of everyone of Arab decent so people decided to use our "Christian" beliefs as a way to fight back. Choice at that point in time wasn't an option. We agreed with our administration and didn't question them because when we are insecure, we want someone just to take care of it. When we went to Afghanistan, I agreed we should. Bin Laden was the attacker and should be brought to justice. Then, things started getting fishy, Why Iraq? Shouldn't we spend our money on fighting who attacked us and not starting a war with a country because we think they have WMD? Can't our Intelligence just keep an eye on them and why were we forcing them to be like our country? Shouldn't they have the choice?
The lies started coming forward and George W. is the pawn in a group of politicians who were working for a long time to take over the majority of the governing party. So, did this all keep us safe? Maybe we haven't had a terrorist attack, but we sure couldn't stop Katrina from devastating our country or any other natural disaster for that matter.
So, will we ever be truelly safe? No....That where your spirituality comes in. Feel security within yourself and as more and more people do, things will change and people will question. That's when the next cycle will come.
One thing they can't do is bring us back in time...once you get a taste of freedom, you won't go back...as freedoms are being taken away in our "free" society, people will get more and more confident and realize that our ignorance and fear is what is making us agree with what we would not have agreed with 10 years ago when we felt secure. Unfortunately, right now, I feel like the terrorist have the upper hand on us. I think once we show we won't let them take our freedoms away, things will change and so will our relations with other countries.
BTW...when I say "we" I am saying it as a country...not any individual on this board...everyone here I know believes in tolerance. I can say also that a few years back, people in my family felt what I wrote and they have changed their minds since then so it's just a matter of time and hopefully, our world will change for the better.
