regular to ivilliage but new to this board, I needed to share my experience tonight-this is kind of long...

I was raised a Christian, accepted Him and was Baptised in 2001. because of work and now school, I stopped going to Church except for the occasional trip, the last time was Christmas Eve. My stepmother invited me to a Sunday night church meeting. It wasn't a typical church service, the worship music was different the speakers were different, it wasn't even in a church, it was in a banquet room of a local hotel. The speaker tonight was a missionary/Pastor and was there with his Pastor wife and 9yr daughter. They were very friendly, he spoke about his missions, the work they do through Christ and such, at the end of the service the started pulling people up to pray for them, he would ask for the "woman with the pain behind her eyes" or the "man with back spasms", to come up and then he would pray for them. He had them stand with their arms stretched up or out and put his hand on their head, sometimes just asking them to repeat the prayer themselves, he would remove his hand and the person would fall back (people would stand behind them to catch the person)and lay on the ground. I have seen this happen before but the woman spoke with such a heavy spanish accent I couldn't understand a word she said, but the guy tonight sounded legit, and my parents have done this. He prayed upon my dad who has had a pinched nerve in his shoulder for the last 10 yrs, could never raise his arm above a certain height, he can now lift it straight in the air. It no longer bothers him. So after seeing all these people fall, I'm wondering what it's all about so because I was quite stressed out about school ending soon and job searching going to begin I thought why not, I'll have him pray for me about that. I went up and instead he prayed about my psoriasis. He had me relax and repeat what he was saying which was basicly "all psoriasis and all skin diseases leave my body, lay these at His feet", he had his hand on my head throughout this, after I repeated this he took away his hand and I felt myself sway and my knees buckled and gave out, my dad was behind me to catch me and lay me down, while I was laying there I just felt weightless, I couldn't feel the hard ground behind me, it felt like I was on feather or something, I felt at piece, I had goosebumps but I wasn't cold and I just started crying, I felt at peace, happy, energetic. I believe God can heal and if it's his will my psoriasis will clear up, I belive in Him and His will. My question here is, has anyone else experienced this? What did you feel, How did you feel?

Hi Angelfish,
Thanks for sharing your wild experience here, pretty bold, lol. I've experienced that myself before, although I also have a healthy amount of skepticism, as mentioned by others. Like you, I felt wonderful, and sure that it was God. The problem comes when people try to force that on you, or an imitation of it. But who is to say that God can't do that today, or won't? The fruit will come if and when you actually experience the increased peace you desire. I believe it can be yours if you will believe Him, and I pray He gives you faith to do just that. Go with His flow, Angelfish, and feel free to post any further questions you might have.
