As of today it's officially Spring, even if Mother Nature hasn't got the memo yet. ;-) The Spring Equinox for many marks a day of balance and new beginnings, which got me thinking... Do you feel more or less spiritual according to the seasons? When do you feel more, and when less?
And on a completely unrelated note... Do you connect your spirituality in any way with your pets? How so?

Yeah Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mother Nature is doing Her Spring~thing here in Louisiana! The birds are all *twitter-pated* (remember Bambi) and the flowers that bloom in the Sring *tra-la* are going bloomin' crazy! *wink*!
I'm finding that I'm far more in-tune w/ the seasons (and weather) than I used to be. And I've wondered am I really more "in-tune" or just paying attention more? Because as I've journeyed on this path I've become consciously aware of Nature, season's, changes, cycles, Earth's gifts and so I *look* for those things? {Or is it because I'm getting older and my body doesn't like the cold/damp very much anyore LOL!} or is it D) All of the above? (yea, I'm in school again *wink*!)
But definetly I'm a Spring and Autumn person (here especially because our Summer's are miserably hot and Winters are cold and rainy). But I love the brilliance of color in both Spring and Autumn ~ not just of flowers and foliage ~ but of the *sky*!!! Oooooohhh how I luv a bright blue sky!!!! And I suppose I luv these two seasons most as I tend to get out *in* Nature so much more then! Touch, smell, see, feel, taste ~ Live and experience!! Winter tends to be a "reflective/inner-work" time. And Summer's here are very *slow/lazy*. I *buzzzz* about in Spring, and always get incredibly restless in Autumn!!
It is a beautiful day here (after 4 days of MUCH rain) and I'm headed outside!!!!!!!!! Yeah *~*~HaPpY SpRiNg~*~*!!!!
And to my buddies up North ~ it *is* on it's way!! The Ceadar Waxwings have been on a feeding frenzy the past few days preparing for their journey home! The geese are pretty much gone, I think, and the hawks have headed back, too . . . it'll be there soon!!!
Much Love and Many Spring Blessings, "M"
P.S. And I don't know that I connect my Sprituality w/ my puppy per se ~ but she does mean the world to me!!! I saved her life (a pound puppy) and believe me she has returned the favor!!! She has helped me through a very difficult time in my life! I do truly *Love* my dog!!
I have recently started going back to church and I am so glad I have.
Usually I feel more spiritual during the Lenten/Easter Season and during the Advent/Christmas Season, but for some reason this year I just feel blah-- maybe it's because I have so much on my plate right now. Maybe as Easter approaches I'll get more into it.
For the second question, since I don't have pets, no, but I do with the animals that live in and around my yard. We saw our family of bunnies the other day-- it was such a lift to see them after the long winter. The Mourning Doves were cooing this morning, getting ready to nest. They always make me smile and remind me that there's more to life than the rat race!
Hi,
I don't relate spirituality and the seasons.
Hi, Ginger,
I do associate seasons and spirituality, Spring- like others have said, a time for renewal, another chance, a rebirth as such; Summer- pure joy and *paradise* for me, I'm a summer girl all the way, I live in the moment during summer; Fall- a time to hoard what I need for the winter- take spiritual classes or a seminar or read a spiritual book; then Winter, a time to assimilate that spiritual food, a time for inward reflection, more meditation and for my spiritual roots to grow stronger as my body becomes a little dormant. (I sleep more in the Winter, I swear I am an animal who is supposed to hibernate! I also dream very vividly, sometimes very deep, powerful messages.)I feel thankful for all these phases.
Yes, I also associate pets with spirituality, their total, unconditional love and instant forgiveness when I goof up reminds me of how I want to be with each person in my life.
Beautiful question, Ginger, Thank you!
Hugs, Nikki
Whilst the level of spirituality doesn't change according to season, how I connect with the universe does. Autumn and winter are times for inner reflection, whilst spring and summer are for connections outside of the self (in general, anyways!).
Did I connect with my cats? Jaguar certainly connected with us. He would happily roam around the neighbourhood when we were away for school, showing up at home only for meal times. But the week before we were due home for vacation, he'd start staying at home all the time. He had his routine with me, and another with my brother. As for Meow, he'd come to me when he was ill, wanting to sleep on my lap or next to me on a cushion that had my smell on it. He'd also insist on a lot of reiki.

I do feel more of a spiritual uplift in the Spring....perhaps because renewal is impressed so strongly at Church.
As to my pets....my two dogs....I see in them all that is "good" in the world.....unconditional love, undying loyalty and true companionship....who wouldn't feel a spiritual connection to them?
Great question.....
The birds are all *twitter-pated*
The Mourning Doves were cooing this morning,
I hadn't thought of the wildlife, but now that you mention it I do connect on a spiritual level much more with wild animals than pets.
