I just learned - I'm doin' it! I bein' what I wanna be! Jack of all trades - Master of none.
I saw a lecture on PBS not too long ago entitled - "Refuse to Choose" with Barbara Sher as the lecturer. (She's written several books including her first "Wishcraft" (Spelling is correct) I was enthralled with the lecture. I just got her book by the same name. She talks about folks she calls Scannners - those of us who can't seem to settle on just one thing - those of us who have a gazillion projects in process or on hold, and have been accused of never finishing anything. Folks just like me. ;- }
The neat part of this whole thing is that she leads you through exercizes to get it al sorted out so you can do everything you want. AND I'm going to one of the few workshops she does here in New Hampster on June 29. I can't even begin to express how elated I am with this. Finally, I'm learning how to pull my self esteem out of the freaking sewer!! So many things are beginning to come together for me this year! And at 52, it feels absolutely rejuvenatingly divine!
I have long been of the opinion that some people don't have one passion, one great gift that draws them to their 15 minutes of fame (a self serving theory...) and the pressure from peers and relatives to participate in things that they 1) have no interest in and 2) have no great skill at: leads to feelings of failure and inadequacy.
Kudos to you for accepting your path and embracing your higher self.
*~*Awesome*~*! Congrats (a bit early . . . and more in May, too!!) That has to feel great. I can't wait to get my diploma (have a ways to go yet 'tho . . . and then I'll turn right around and start on my Masters soooooo I really do have a way to go). Best wishes w/ the remainder of school and your future in living your dream!!!!! Hooray for you!
