Do you discuss your path w/ your parents

No particular reason for asking, just wondering how much others discuss their paths and spiritual leanings with their parents. Especially those who have or are questioning the religions/traditions of their upbring.
I personally never really discussed my beliefs with my parents until a couple years ago when Dad (who's a high-ranking Mason) handed me The DaVinci Code saying 'you need to read this.' That really opened the lines of communication, especially between Mom and me.

I discuss my spirituality with my parents, but my path is very similar to theirs (same religion).
Just outta curiosity Ginger, why did your dad think you "should" read the Da Vinci Code, a truly fictional work written for entertainment purposes?

Hi trouchflute - can I give my view on this one?
I totally discuss everything with my mother.
I don't hide it from them but don't really discuss it either. My Mom knows my point of view pretty much and we do discuss things now and then. Just the other day she mentioned buying me a religeous picture for my graduation. But glad she didn't it was not my style...LOL. She is glad she showed me the pic first too, was expensive.
When I was a kid my parents never went to church, but I did. Every Sunday I walked 4 blocks to church by myself and went to either Sunday school or the service. I started in kindergarden and went for years! They never said a thing to me about it. I wonder what they really thought, I never really stopped to think about it before.
Thanks for the thought provoking question!!

You misread; he handed the book to me, saying that I should read it.
Interesting Star!
Hello Jodi.
Alas I never discussed religion with my parents, in fact I never discussed much about my life with them or with my mother
