OK, I admit it.  It's Thursday and I have no Question of the Week because I seem to be having brain lapses on "deep stuff" and rather than post something dumb, I thought I'd just throw it out there and see if anyone has something challenging and interesting to post as a QotW....

(sigh...)

OK, I've had this thought running through the back of my mind for a week or so; just haven't been able to put it into words.

I loved that movie, it changed my outlook on life. It's simple and brilliant and it really can change the world. That's the innocent brilliance of a child!

Anyway, I smile, be polite, and help people that need it (looking for things in the grocery store or open a door for someone, stuff like that.) My theory is that it's hard not to have a nice day when someone smiles and does something nice for you. If you can make one other person smile, and they have a better day and smile to someone else, maybe they go home and smile to their kids and neighbors, and on and on. I believe it's hard to find the bad in people and feel hatred if your life is filled with joy and joy starts with a smile. My hope is that joy is contagious and will spread.

Finally coming back to answer my own question.

I loved this movie, too. :)) I am finding working with my own energy determines a lot of my reality. That, and protections against negative energies coming at me. :P I try to exude positive and peaceful, loving energies and take a good close look inside, when I am feeling off center, emotionally jittery or out of balance. Often times I can control outcomes or situations by choosing the quality of the energy I bring.

My Mika has been teaching me a lot about energy in the past few months. I came upon Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer's, approach to dog behavior quite by accident. He talks a lot about energy and visualization and how our dogs pick up on that. Our energy can make all the difference in the world in our relationships with people as well as our animals, and with the planet itself and the Universe. I am learning to recognize disjointedness in myself, and instead of just accepting it as well, that's the way I feel today, to work to shift that energy in a more positive direction. Mika is like a barometer. The quality of our daily long walks together definitely relates to my own mindset and energy. If I am feeling disjointed, out of sorts, whatever, she is "difficult" on leash. Doing all the things to push my buttons and break our rules of how we walk together. LOL! :D If I become aware of the mechanics of this going on, and take some deep breaths and focus more positively, she settles right down also, and suddenly we are back in sync with each other again, a team.

Amen, and yes, this is a big thing. In fact, in some ways it is more significant than 'big works' that draw a lot of attention. There is definitely a ripple affect when you pass on the slightest kind gesture.
