As I said in another post, I have been disturbed recently because my mother died, and just before she died I was reading some scary literature about what might happen to our souls when we die. Well today, I talked to my favorite local priest about it, and when I told him what I had been reading (pamphlets from the Fatima Center), he said to at least ignore them, if not burn them, that they are very evil. He went on to say that God as he understood him was loving and forgiving above all else, and that my mother is definitely in Heaven. He was so sure of this that he said I should not only pray for my mother, but to her*.

*The Catholic definition of a saint is a person we know is in Heaven. We can pray for those folks to intercede with the Lord for us.

That's wonderful, Beth!
