We're very fortunate to have Jodi with us as a CL on both the Breast Implants and Faith & Spirituality boards.  Can there be boards that are more different?  : )  She brings expertise, fun and information to the BI board and a quiet spirituality, along with great questions, to the F & S board.  Thanks for your dedication, Jodi!

Communities:   Breast Implants and Faith & Spirituality on the Health Channel, and Joyful Home on the Home & Food Channel

What brought you to Health and Well-Being?  I initially came looking for a place to discuss spirituality, and found Faith & Spirituality.  One day I saw a follow me tag in someone's siggy for the Breast Implants board and wandered over to take a look.  I was disappointed to find a dying board with no CL.  I knew from experience how valuable a support forum is to someone going through this surgery, and that the potential was there for a thriving community.  And I knew it would take a leader who wasn't shy about having implants, who could be totally open about the experience.  So I just kind of barged in and started posting.  LOL  It was slow-going for a while; sometimes I felt like I was sitting there talking to myself.  But there's a real sense of community and camaraderie now.

How has your experience as a community leader affected your life?
It sounds so cliche, but being a CL really gives me a sense of purpose and accomplishment.  Breast Implants in particular is my baby because I know not just anyone can lead that board and because it was so close to dead.

What's your most memorable and/or entertaining experience as a CL?  The little comments from the board members are what stand out most to me.  The 'thank you for being here' and the 'I'm so glad I found this board' and the 'I'm so relieved to know I'm not alone.'

What are some of your offline hobbies and interests?   What?  Life outside iVillage???  ;-)  I love to read, particularly religious history or historical fiction.  And I quilt, which I always say is my therapy.  My kids (who brought me to iVillage in the first place, via ParentsPlace) take up a lot of my offline time.  And then of course, there's my newest addiction... er, passion:  Disney's online game ToonTown.

Final thoughts?   I never dreamed 6 years ago that iVillage would become such a huge part of my life, or that I could become so close with people I'd met online.  Now, I can't imagine my life without it.  Or them.
