Create your own reality?

Do we create our own reality? or is it created for us?   Several of the posts on other topics have alluded to our paths being somewhat set, either by our souls before birth, or by a God who knows what is best for us.  What about free will?  Where does that fit in?

A speaker and author I admire proposes to evoke your own reality, that is, bring it forth in others by your own actions and responses to your world.  This has a lot of appeal to me.

What do you think about your reality?

In my opinion, we always have free will and choice. I believe we DO choose major spiritual evolvement lessons prior to each incarnation, but within that framework, it is up to us HOW and WHEN and how we APPLY those lessons. Every little choice you make can and does change your reality, IMO. Something as minor as what jewelry you wear, the color of your clothes, even what time to go out to do something. All can change the dynamics and choices you encounter as you interact with others.

As a Wiccan and working with spells and Magic, I see these disciplines as working with changing reality as well. Perhaps changing reality is more about changing ourselves, our energy, our focus, than it is about changing things outside ourselves. It's inner work that determines outer reality, IMO.

I believe that certain situations are predetermined for us,
and also that our free will determines many outcomes.

For instance, Roy and Greg were miraculously put into
my life some 13 years ago.

Several times I've done certain things with certain methods that assured me how we can change reality in our life. However I'm not so sure about big things like dying.

I'd say that maybe we do have things inscribed for us when they are going to happen but with our own acts we can prolong it or change it. Don't know, just my thought...

I've always beleived that life is what we make of it, we can sit around and be miserable and nothing, or we can be optimistic and take charge of our life and live to our destiny.

We do have free will, but I also believe that everything happens for a reason.

This is an awesome question!

For me, I believe Life is a journey, not a destination and that we have a choice in everything we do. THAT is our free will.
