QotW-9/27 Know why you're here?

I'm sure this is something we have all thought about more than once in our lifetimes. "What's it all about, Alfie??" (from an old movie...)
We all have a reason for being here. Do you have an idea what it is? What lesson are you here to learn? What karma to cleanse? Looking backwards over your life, do you see a pattern that might illustrate your lesson?
I have an inkling about mine from lots of readings and life experience, which I'll share with you later. Looking forward to your responses!

I'm here to keep people from committing suicide. Crazy? Maybe. But I have helped at least 3 people in my short lifetime & I'm open to it happening more.
We never cross paths intentionally, but it happens.
Whenever I'm feeling down, I think about them & the people that will come.
That's a wonderful thing to know you have been there for those people and helped them to stay in this life.
I'm here to support people and offer a shoulder to cry on. I've always been the one in school to whom everybody would come to talk and vent because they somehow knew their seecret would be safe with me.
I've been an inspiration for some to go get after their dream, a role model for other. somehow I'm the one you ask for help. It's a tough job. as teenager especially when you are accumulating a lot of things from your firend, I learned to draw limits, but even today I sometimes realise I took much more on me that I should have and sometimes it's a bit though.
I think I'm here to learn about helping others and helping myself, and about not getting tensed too easily in the process.

Strangely, I have never asked the question of why am I here on
earth, or for what reason.

Well, I have intensely believed in various religions, doctrines, teachings throughout my life. The most important thing I've learned is there are questions that seemed to be answered and satisfy for awhile, and silence the questions. For awhile. Only. Then the questions start up again.
I have no straight answers. I don't think I ever will. I'm learning to live with paradox, I guess I could say no single spiritual path has the answers. Maybe that's what I'm here to understand. That *I* am stardust of the Universe, dreaming myself in human form. This time.

It took me a long time to figure out the patterns in my life, but now they all seem so clear, it's hard to imagine how I missed them.
I attempted answering this question when I first saw it. And I really can't come up with an answer. I think I'm a very late bloomer as I'm 42 and just starting to see who I am and why I'm here. I've been doing alot of seeking and questioning up until now with little success. I've always gone by the book, living up to others' expectations. But now I feel it's time for me to venture off on a different path to focus on discovering myself and following my life's purpose.
