Asking for prayers

DH had to start on a blood pressure medication a couple of days ago. He had a dizzy spell this morning. :(( He texted me a while ago. He is out at the railroad museum working on equipment restoration. Said he stood up and almost keeled over with the dizziness. Then he sat back down and waited, and it got better. I hope this won't continue (he's only been on it a few days)...this new drug is supposed to be pretty benign, but for someone who hardly even so much as takes an aspirin, I dunno. It's a bit of a drive to get home from there, plus he's climbing all over the equipment and using tools, etc., etc.

Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers that he adjust to the new med quickly!

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this. The Prayer section is gone, so I thought I'd put it here.

Thanks
Gypsy

Thank you both for your prayers! :) He got home safe and sound. Now he's cooking our Sunday breakfast feast (eggs, potatoes, bacon, muffins) and we'll eat before he heads back out to the railroad for a meeting! ACK! I hope he doesn't have another reaction today... <:=o He said after that episode at lunchtime, he was fine the rest of the day. He's wondering if because he was very hungry, and hadn't eaten as yet, that it might have been in combination with low blood sugar. I dunno. I hope he does fine today, too. Tonight he's writing an email to his doc about his reactions. He didn't see HIS doc last week. He had just gone in for a reading of his blood pressure, and his doc wasn't there, so another one Rx'd him. Since his BP is borderline, but has been for a year, without rising any further, it's either adjustment time or maybe he needs a lower dosage. He's going to get an appt. to see his own doc.

Here's the link to the railroad museum he's been involved with since the late 60s:

Blessings and prayers sent...... I know my Mom had to have her dosage cut in half when she started on the meds for the same reason. With all the prayers he's getting, I know he is protected, and won't have a spell when he is driving or in other bad situations.

Love the link to the rail roads, and Northern Cal is my favorite place in the whole country. We tried to move there a few years ago, as our jobs are highly moveable, but just couldn't do it with the cost of living difference.

OMG! I had no idea there was a museum and ride at Niles Canyon!

I'm glad that it didn't happen again. It was
probably a combo of new meds, not eating yet,
could be anything.
I will pray for him though, that he remain
relatively healthy. Keep us posted.

Great! I'm glad you can check out the train ride. :))

DH had no problems yesterday. He says he doesn't "feel right," but no dizziness or lightheadedness. PHEW!

Thank you! :) So far so good. No more dizziness/lightheadedness since Saturday. Maybe his body has adjusted. I went through a bad spell of random lightheadedness that would hit me driving down the freeway, randomly, that was Rx related. Tured out one med was incompatible with grapefruit juice, which I had been drinking for lunch, because I didn't know! ACK! Fortunately there are no food interactions in all the info we have on DH's Rx. PHEW!

Thank you so much! :) He's doing alright now, it seems. No "spells," but says his body still "feels different." He went off to work today as usual.

Yes, the cost of living here is awful! UGH! DH was born in the area, and I've lived here for 40+ years. It's home. We refuse to relocate. We change jobs before we'd leave the area. Our roots are here. DH's siblings are close to the area. It's tough, though, and financially detrimental. In another 5 years, when DH retires, I don't know what we'll do or how we'll manage with a major drop in income. It's a constant worry. :-\
