Hello,
Can anyone share their experiences with shamanism or journeying? I know very little about it but thought it might be something I should look into.
Thanks

I don't know much of anything about it off the top of my head, but I bet some other posters do.

Hi! :)

There is a Pagan Paths board here in iVillage you might drop in on, if you haven't already:

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-rlwiccan

I also found these web sites:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamanism

http://www.shamanism.com/

http://deoxy.org/shaman.htm

http://www.sacred-texts.com/sha/index.htm

I have not studied Shamanism. But I remember reading a series of books about Carlos Castenada:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Castaneda

He studied with a Shaman in Mexico and wrote a number of books about this odyssey. Fascinating stuff. Each tribe and culture had their own Shamanistic traditions, so there is not just "one" spiritual path, as I understand. I have never studied the path, except to read Castenada's books about his studies and training.

Hope this helps!

Blessings,
Gypsy

Well it is a path I've haven't explored before. I recently had a talk with a shaman that intrigued me and the local Unity church has classes in journeying.

Hi--
Another great website on what shamanism is and isn't. There is a list of recommended reading, along with great articles.
