Just need to talk !

I was in an extremely abusive relationship for about 10 years and finally got the courage to leave almost 2 years ago. I thought my daughter's life and mine would be wonderful when I left. But, it wasn't. I got involved with a married man and did things that I am not proud of. I am not in a relationship now. I am trying to focus on our future, but it is hard just trying to cope with day to day stress. It seems like that I am starting over (again!)I'm not sure if I have the energy to do it. My soul seems so empty. I have been trying to save the money to buy me another Bible, but it never seems to happen. My ex-husband ripped my old one up. My relationship with my 23 year old son is in tatters. He lost respect for me when I wouldn't leave the marriage soon enough. He lives only 40 miles away, but I have only seen him once this year(Jan). Will all this pain and emptiness ever go away?

Hello Friend,
I'm sorry to hear about the tough time you are having. I'm also sorry you are without a Bible. You could borrow a Bible at a Christian Science Reading Room and there you could also find some great magazines that could give you some encouragement. You can also read the Bible there. Some Reading Rooms also have books for children to look at and borrow so your daughter might enjoy it too. There are Reading Rooms in most cities, look in you local phone book to find one.

If you would like me to find a Bible I could send to you feel free to email me through the member to member mail and I'll start looking for one to send you.

In the mean time here is one of my favorite Bible verses from Psalms:

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."

God does love you and will bless your desire to make progress.

Warm regards,
Peanuts

Thank you so much for your kind words. Since I first posted, I found a site online that I downloaded a Bible from. We live in a very small town (4,500 people), so we have very limited resources. Thank goodness for the internet! My daughter is 17, a senior in high school. She is very angry, at me and the world. I have her in counselling. I hope that it helps her. It seems that we will pay for my poor choice in a husband for a very long time. I pray night and day for Him to grant her a little inner peace. It's just scary to have such an uncertain future. I truly hope that we both regain some peace one day. Thanks again for replying.

I'm so glad you now have access to a Bible! Your prayer for your daughter is truly sincere and full of love. God is love and does answer sincere prayer. Even though your marriage didn't work out well that can't keep you from going forward. It is God that rules your life not a mistaken man. God will help you and answer your prayers.

Warm regards,
Peanuts

Hi Tired!

Your story is so inspiring!! It's not easy to break cycles & patterns in our life, however negative. You should be patting yourself on the back...I'm proud of you! I know it seems grim & heavy at the moment...but our God will not leave you. I will be praying for you & your daughter.
Also, I have an extra Bible...don't know if you're comfortable giving out your mailing address but I'd love to send it to you. (via private email of course!) It's just like new...I bought it because my other one was falling apart. But I went back to my old one...it's comfy & nicely worn in. :)
Let me know...but either way I'll be rooting for you!

Warmly,

happymel :)
