Well what ABOUT Kwanzaa?

With all due respect, I have a hard time understanding why Kwanzaa is grouped in with the other December holidays. From what I've read/understood about the holiday, it is NOT religious in nature at all- so why does it get grouped in with Christmas/Chanukah/Yule? Aside from it taking place in December, I don't understand why it is sometimes mentioned as if it's a substitute, or another, religious holiday as opposed to the other three. What gives?

I was just reading about Kwanzaa in the newspaper the other day.

Oh! That makes a lot of sense! :-) It's just something I've been wondering about... but that makes sense, about faith. Of course, that could just be about faith in general and not necessarily religious faith, but I'd assume that religious faith would play a part in it as well... and faith of the ancestors makes a lot of sense too....
Thanks Jodi!

I pulled this link off Beliefnet, as your question is probably pretty wide-spread among the non-black community.
