I voted other as we have a santa on the top of our tree. It was a present many years ago and I can't see ever changing it out unless of course it gets broken.

After reading through the replies, I think I messed up;) I should've voted AFTER reading because I see you wanted to know what's on the top. Right???

Anyhoo, always an angel. After the kids got too big to make mom one of those construction paper ones, I bought a lighted angel. Not too garish. LOL My answer was *other.* We have an eclectic collection of ornaments, bows & hand crocheted snowflakes. jan

We have Santa on the top of our tree. On my "to do" list is a crochet star for our tree. Some day. :) For now, we'll just stick with Santa.

We got our tree up, porch and front picture window decorated last weekend, at last. :))

For many years, DH & I had an angel with a star behind her. She was just perfect! :P Then she got broken. :(( DH tried to repair her, but her head keeps toppling off. Not good to have a headless angel on top of the tree... I bought another angel last year, but we didn't really like it all that much. This year we found a star that we both liked, with a light inside silver filigree. It's just perfect. DH says he grew up with a star on the tree, so he's happy. :P I like the star, too, but I miss our perfect little angel... The tree looks beautiful, though. I also found a box of crystal snowflakes and they are gorgeous. Orchard Supply had lots of tempting things... LOL! :D

Growing up we never had new ornaments- but we always had a santa head with beautiful curling beard and hair.

We have a large tree in livin room and a small tree in the play room. Both are topped by angels. The upstairs one has china face and hands, and is wearing green and red and has a golden stole. She is quite beautiful and we have had her for about 10 years. Before this we had a glass spike (?) that was translucent with a light in it. It sort of looked like a star.
