I bet most of us know what the best gift we ever received was.  My question is, what's the best gift you ever gave someone else?

An apology (:- )
Last year I had a book made with the pics I took of my grandson's first year. I thought it was so wonderful, apple did such a professional job making it into a book. Leila

Great question! :)) I guess for me it was quitting smoking when I was pregnant with my DD. Not a holiday gift, but the best gift because it was the hardest for me to give.

One year when I was about twelve, my Mom decided that we should exchange stockings and that it would be to drawn names to fill the stockings and I got my Dad's name. I had such fun filling it! and it really taught me about giving. I filled with things that I knew that my dad needed or liked. He really enjoyed it and I loved doing it.

Great question! I'd love to have a great story of a grand life changing gesture but I guess I have something to strive for because I've never given a gift that good. LOL! I think the best present I ever gave was a pencil portrait of my niece that I gave to her mother, my sister. She still talks about how it's the greatest thing ever and it's been years and years since I gave it to her. (She's always been my biggest fan so her praise is the greatest gift I've ever received.)

I have a history of giving presents to my spouse that I got all excited about only to be met with lukewarm reception!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one... I've been kind of avoiding answering because I just can't think of any fantastic gift I've ever given.

Stormy,
I loved the idea of exchanging stockings so much I took the idea to my family and they love the idea too. We'll be exchanging stockings for next year! How cool is that?
Thanks!

I'll say personal gifts given to me were the best like ones speaking from the heart and homemade. My best gifts I have given were to my parents, not knowing for a fact if this can be true.

You're welcome! we had such fun doing it and just loved to see the looks on each other's faces when we exchanges stockings. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters, so money was not that plentiful in our home for our parents. They always ensured we each had a nice Christmas but this really helped give them a break.

There were a couple of rules. We had to spend our own money on the stockings! And nothing that was too pricey. Other than that we had a blast doing it.

Hope you all had a great holiday!
