Where has your power gone?

Here is a great exercise for analyzing where your personal power has gone, especially when you’re feeling out of control and buffeted by life. Sometimes our spiritual practice and living gets the very back seat in our lives and this is exactly when we begin to feel lost and alone. Since knowledge is power, this exercise helps us see where we are giving away our power so we can take it back. In order for this exercise to be helpful you must be totally honest with yourself (no “fudging”). Use your intuition to guide you as to percentages and add them up at the end. If you feel inclined to share some of your insights gained from this exercise/experience, please post! :) I’ll share mine later.

I haven't done this exercise for awhile. With the holidays sometimes stressing us out, the New Year about to begin and thoughts of what we want to change come up, the shortest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, reminded me of this spiritual self-evaluation. :P I believe we are all creatures of the Light and the Dark energies, swirling within us, as in the Tao Circle. Learning to live in balance with our energies is Power. Power to live our lives as we wish, according to our spiritual dictates. One of my Yule/Solstice practices is to write things down that I wish to end/change in my life, to let go of. On another piece of paper, I write what I want to manifest in my life. And I burn both in my little cauldron, letting the flame take them out into the Universe, releasing energy of change within me. What do you think?

Yes, it is a very powerful exercise! I do understand about what you can share here, and what you must keep close to your heart. I am happy you found it helpful and useful. That is good to know. :) I am struggling with things I have not let go of, also. In the ritual I shared with other Pagans Wednesday nite (I posted about that), I used leaves as symbols of some of the things I want to let go of...as well as some things I want to come into my life. Now I have to do the work, in every moment of every day, to change those things...

Hugs to you,
Gypsy
