A Sharing: Solstice and Yule Ritual

Just wanted to share! :) On Wednesday evening, I attended a Pagan Circle ritual from the UU church I attend. After we called the Corners and cast the sacred Circle, we held a celebration of the rebirth of the God and the return of the Light. We each held candles to symbolize this, and later we chose leaves that our Priestess for this ritual had gathered, and embued them with our thoughts and wishes for the coming year. Her husband, the Priest for this ritual, wore a long green robe with white trim, and a wreath on his head. He passed a mask around of the Sun God's face, so we could look through the eyes of the God at each other and bless each other. Then we all went outside for a little bonfire and cast our leaves into the fire! Fire is a powerful symbol at this time of year. We had Wassail to drink and bread to ground us after the ceremony, and goodies followed after the opening of the Circle, that were brought by people to celebrate. :P It was very powerful to have the ritual with other people, instead of as a Solitary, which is how I usually celebrate this Sabbat.

"We are awake in the night!
We turn the Wheel, to bring the light!
We call the sun from the womb of night!"

"The tide has turned!
The light will come again!
In a new dawn, in a new day,
The sun is rising!
Blessed Be!"

May the Light as the days grow longer again, brighten our hearts and spirits in the coming year! :))

Hugs,
Gypsy

Blessings,
