QotW-Do you believe in ghosts?

Ghosts, spirits, vaporizations, incarnations...  whatever you want to call them, stories about them have been told and passed down for millenia.

This question is inspired by Stormy's post about the child saying he saw a ghost at Christmas.  Do you believe in such things?  If so, what do you think they are and why are they among us?  If not, how would you explain what people believe they see?

Really looking forward to your answers!

Absolutely I believe in ghosts although I've never seen one personally. I felt my father-in-law's spirit for a few days after his very sudden passing a couple of months ago. We had alot of unexplained phenomen in the house the night of his passing and for a few days afterwards. Especially with our alarm system and our phone. I absolutely knew he was there.

My mother lived in a haunted house for while back in the 50's, and talked about it some. She never actually saw a ghost but there were alot of unexplained things going on in the house. Like doors closing on their own and chairs sliding across the room. Sometimes she'd hear footsteps when there was no-one else around in the house. My mother was not the spiritual type of person really, so when she talked about this I always took her seriously.

Anyway, I absolutely believe in ghosts!

I've never seen one either, but I do believe they exist.

No I don't believe in ghosts unless they're being thought about. Just praying or mentoring with someone helps to eliminate the fear. I wouldn't teach believing in ghosts. Teaching the Holy Spirit in church helps to understand and to overcome, in the quote "Love casts out all fear."

I'm confused... what fear?

I'm not sure. I LIKE to think that we can come back and contact our loved ones when we pass over and I know plenty of people that I trust that say they have seen them ... so I'm on the fence but leaning toward yes.

(Man, I'm wishy washy! LOL!)

Hmmmm. I really don't know! Does that constitute an answer? There are things I've experienced that were not ghostly, but came in dreams. Twor or three very powerful dreams over a few years, the last of which floored me, but can't say I've ever experienced anything I'd consider of the sort mentioned.

Anything without substance &/or intercession of another person can cause someone to express fear, as in "where two or more are gathered, there is love" (another biblical quote). The unknown causes fear.

I understand, I think.

I, too, am unsure about the status of spirits that seem to hang around the earth.
