Yay! I've been going to a Unitarian Universalist Fellowship since Xmas eve, every Sunday, and I'm just so happy there. I used to go to a UU back home, so, when I moved, I looked a local one up. I love it! It's so easy to feel welcome there, and so easy to make friends and meet intelligent people from all woks of life. It's so wonderful. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with UUism and what they thought?

Hello! :)) Yes, I recently, in the past 4 months or so, have been going to a UU, also, after many years as a Solitary Wiccan. I LOVE it! The people are friendly, and they have so much going on. Tonight they are beginning a series on the Roots of UU two Wednesday evenings a month. I'm looking forward to learning more. :P I am glad you are having a wonderful time and finding it "home." You might be interested, we had a thread about the UU earlier, that I began, asking if anyone had any experience about UU. Here's the link:

I am about ready to sign their membership book on the altar and become an official member. :) They also have a small Pagan Circle, which my DD (grown and on her on) is also a member, and we all get together and take turns with planning the rituals, for the Sabbats.

I, too, felt very welcome and accepted at the local UU church.

ACK! Oh, no! I didn't intend you to take it as BTDT, kind of thing. Not at all! I am so sorry! :(( A new thread is great! I'd like to hear more on this thread, too. Read any books? Share some of your experiences. Rituals they do. We did a fire ritual which was really awesome last Sunday. And I'm starting a UU Roots seminar tonite. (I'll post more later on that!).The old thread we talked about books, different perspectives and how people gravitate to UU. I just thought you might like to check it out, is all, that you might find it interesting... OK? It would be great to talk some more...

Hugs,

Oh. Okay! :) Our UU did a fire ritual for New Years Eve. We wrote down things on two peices of paper; on one, we wrote what we'd like to rid ourselves/the world of in the new year, and on the other, what we'd like to have more of in ourselves/the world in the new year, then we burned them in a large metal bowl... Yeah, we almost set the place on fire!! It was craziness. A lot of fun, though. :) Our building is real small, too. I love UUism, I grew up with a Baptist stepfather, a Protestant mom and a Catholic father, my one of my best friends growing up was Jewish and my Aunt is Mormon. I went to Catholic school for a while, visited different churches, ect. I was very into Wicca and Paganism for a long time, I'm fascinated by Hinduism, and I have my own set of beliefs alltogether. I have, for as long as I can remember, been fascinated by religion. When I was young, ten or eleven maybe, a good friend of mine, Katie W., and I got these cool tie-dye notebooks and created our own religion. It was pretty cool, all in all. It was very Pagan in nature; we created our own deieties and such, and wrote up our own rules. I wish I could find that notebook. I've written several versions of it sense, but only have one version left. I still believe in all of the base principles we wrote that first day, but wasn't I surprised to come across UUism and find that the general principles are some of those same ones we put in place for ourselves so long ago. Last I heard, Katie W. had become Wiccan. I do miss that girl terribly, but can't seem to track her down. :-( Anyway, I've rambled enough....
