TAKE THE QUIZ. Are you ready to change your life? Like a plant, your roots--your hopes and dreams--need to be nourished. Take the Repotting test by Diana Holman and Ginger Pape (reprinted from repotting.com), to see if you've outgrown your daily circumstances and are ready for a larger growth environment: http://www.beliefnet.com/section/quiz/index.asp?sectionID=900&surveyID=395

from the companion article, "10 Ways to Bring More Growth into Your Life:"

"10 Ways to Bring More Growth into Your Life
It's spring planting season--and time to transform your life as well. Here's how to start 'repotting' to achieve your dreams.

By Diana Holman and Ginger Pape

Just as gardeners look for ways to promote growth in their garden, so, too, do people look for ways to bring more growth into their lives. Repotting is our term for how those who have outgrown the pot or container of their daily lives, are transplanting themselves into a larger growth environment. What happens to a beautiful, flowering plant that outgrows its container? If you don’t repot it, eventually it withers and dies. Our book, Repotting: 10 Steps for Redesigning Your Life shows you how to rejuvenate your life by following our step-by-step process. No matter what your age, stage of life, or circumstances, you can benefit from the repotting process and philosophy. (Take the Repotting Test to see if you're ready for a change.)

Here are 10 ways that to bring more growth into your life as spring approaches (for details of each one, go here: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/212/story_21288_1.html):

1. Rethink Your Landscape.
2. Realize That Planting Is a Process.
3. Weed Your Garden.
4. Let in More Light.
5. Tend Your Garden Regularly.
6. Cultivate Your Dreams.
7. Water Your Roots.
8. Don’t Forget Fertilizer.
9. Plant a Sample Bed.
10. Get Input from Other Gardeners."

I thought this was kind of nifty. Just sharing. My results of the quiz were:

30 - 60 Your roots are starting to feel cramped in your current lifestyle. You probably have a sense that things are not quite right, but don't know what to do about it.

And that is exactly why I recently formally signed the membership book at the UU and made my formal commitment. ;))

Please share if you are comfortable.

Gypsy,

My results are:

70 - 100

Your current environment is not conducive to your personal growth. You need more nourishment and space to bring your life more meaning and happiness. The 10 steps of repotting should help.

I had that pretty well figured out, lol;)

"It's hard with a 10 month old,"

I remember those days of childraising, and how little time I had for myself, just to regenerate, let alone pursue my spiritual journey! <:=O I was working full-time when DD was a year old, and DH & I had to really adjust and adapt. It wasn't easy, that's for sure! My DD is now 25 and on her own, so I have much more freedom and options with how I use my time. I did everything from getting up at 5:00 a.m. before anyone was awake, and going out to my meditation cushion in my little meditation set up in the garage. :P Sometimes it was leaving DH and DD in the house, and escaping to go for a walk with my dog at a nearby hiking trail. Just going grocery shopping alone was a blessing, LOL! It was using nap times for ME times, and not worrying about household tasks. More mess, but better together me. :P It wasn't easy and didn't always happen on a daily basis, that's for sure! So, I understand what you are saying.

I think each woman must find her own way to gain some time for herself. I'd say, being aware you need it, is a big step. ;))

Hugs,

Thanks;)

I usually use naptimes for me time - mostly spending time on the boards and little odds and ends.
