QOTW for week of October 10th!
| Sun, 10-10-2004 - 12:54pm |
Hey all... hope the weekend is going well for everyone and if not, remember we are here for you!
This week's questions are a bit on the serious side....or perhaps reflective is a better word? Anyway, here goes!
1. Do you feel you have a purpose in life? If so, what is it? Have you discovered it yet or is it still making itself known to you?
2. Is that purpose different today than it was, say, 10 yrs ago?
3. What determines our purpose in life? Is it self determined? Determined by God? Fate? Good/Bad Luck? Or some combination thereof?
That's it for this week ladies! Take care and I'll check back in later! Hugs, Lori

Here's my answers....
1. I DO feel I have a purpose in life.... For me, I think it is to help others who've experienced trauma, abuse, depression or other emotional distress. It is to love to the best of my ability and also, I think I was always meant to have a child of my own. That hasn't happened yet and time is running out so stay tuned on that one--lol!
2. No, my purpose isn't really any different than it was 10 yrs ago---although I wasn't yet in a place where I could focus on it. My immediate concern back then was just surviving---both the effects of my abuse, the stress of the court case and MYSELF!
3. I believe that our purpose is determined by God long before we even existed and that it is up to us to listen and discover it and then work to live up to it. I also believe SELF DETERMINATION is important---that we can define for ourselves what good we will do each day and we certainly know what is important to us and can live according to what we believe.
1. Do you feel you have a purpose in life? If so, what is it? Have you discovered it yet or is it still making itself known to you? Mostly I don't feel like I have a purpose in life. I am raising my girls and that's what is keeping me going, but whether or not that really is a "purpose" or not, I don't know since I made that decision to have them.
2. Is that purpose different today than it was, say, 10 yrs ago? no.
3. What determines our purpose in life? Is it self determined? Determined by God? Fate? Good/Bad Luck? Or some combination thereof? Since I have very few beliefs in life anymore (and haven't had any in many many years), I don't really know. I think it takes having some sort of belief in something to feel strongly about something to give you a purpose. Not sure I've made any sense. Sorry.
Sandra.
Well, I know this is late, but I was sooo busy last week I didn't have a chance to check in, so here are my answers!
