Okay, here's this week's questions. More thoughtful than last week but hopefully still good!
1. Tell us about an obstacle in your life that you've overcome. It can be something serious and "issue-related" such as depression/suicide or it can be something such as "I never knew how to swim cause I was always afraid of water but I did it and now I swim quite well."
2. Tell us about an obstacle in your life that you WANT TO overcome and name one step (can be a small step!) that you have taken or WILL take to reach your goal!
3. Tell us about a favorite childhood memory.
4. Tell us about a pet that you have or have had that brings you/brought you joy.
5. What is your favorite food?
As you can probably guess, these questions are not only telling us something about you so we can all get to know each other better but more importantly, they are helping us to see a few GOOD things about ourselves: we CAN and HAVE overcome obstacles and we DO have good memories--even if the bad overshadow the good at times! Hugs, Lori

1.I had a fear of driving & didn't get behind the wheel of a car for 3 years. I finally reached a point where I was sick of telling my kids I couldn't take them anywhere or asking others to take me to get groceries. Using the small step approach, I drove away from my home in ever increasing distances & time. I pushed till I was anxious but not panicking. I still have trouble on the interstate & bridges, tunnels & stopped traffic scare me to death. But I know that fear will not kill me & I am in a much better place.
2. I haven't walked down the concourse of our local mall for nearly 9 years. Due to my panic attacks, I fear being trapped. I still visit the mall from outside stores & walk into the concourse just to look around. I will walk down that concourse someday.
3. Playing in the woods behind our very rural farm. There was a crick(creek) & lots of wildflowers. I loved the Jack in the Pulpits best. It smelled of dirt & moss & all things warm & fuzzy. I
Here I am, Janis--lol!
1. I feel that I have overcome the obstacle of my abuse to a great degree. It used to be the focus of my days due to the depression it caused and it also consumed my nights with nightmares and flashbacks much of the time. Therapy was very helpful for me--as was medication when I needed it, outside supports and ultimately a strong will to live rather than exist!
2. Hmmm....this one is surprisingly similar to cl-janis. I am 44 yrs of age and I have never had my driver's license. I used to tell myself that it was simply due to the fact that I couldn't afford a car and public transportation was fairly plentiful and affordable but for me, it is also about anxiety. It is an obstacle in my life because it limits me. I have to wait around for cabs to do groceries, take buses or walk to my doctor's appt. etc. To overcome this I am going to once again go for my driver's permit. And THIS time I am gonna do it!
3. I would say a favorite childhood memory was spending the night at my Nana's house every now and then! I was very young....not even in school yet. We'd sit up and watch T.V. together...Ed Sullivan, The Honeymooners, Red Skelton. And though I didn't understand much of what I saw, I loved sitting on my Nana's lap and cuddling with her. I'd wake up tucked into her bed and smell breakfast cooking and we'd eat together while I chattered away about the day ahead.
4. Simon is a black tabby cat my partner and I adopted together last fall. He and I developed a very special bond and I was heartbroken when we had to give him up in order for my partner to
Thought I had answered these already but guess not so here goes.

I want to overcome my fear of moving on and can try to work on that by getting out there and getting a better job. With a B.A. even my part time job could be better than making subs.
