Welcome to our board. I wish it could be under better circumstances. It is never good news when we hear someone has thoughts of harming themselves.
I don't know what's happening in your life. Sadness, disappointments, losses or even too much stress can contribute to feelings of depression. We are here to listen & advise you to seek help. It's out there. Please call the suicide prevention hotline numbers @ the top of this page. If you have them, call a psychiatrist or your therapist. If you are still having the bad thoughts & cannot control them, go to the nearest ER & report what you have posted to this board.
Taking your life, is a drastic step. You are very correct. What if you didn't succeed & were left in a non-functioning state. Think of the grief & pain those who love you would suffer. They would be left behind to move through life without you. I am sure you're a good & worthwhile person. The depression is clouding your thinking. Try to see this as a temporarily bad situation. What you have in mind is permanent.
We care about you. We want you to feel better. Please take a positive step. Keep in touch. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
Hi and welcome to the board. I'm sorry I was not able to respond earlier---been having some major 'puter problems!
I want to commend you for reaching out--there are a lot of caring and supportive people here who know what you are going through. I myself suffered from similar feelings and was diagnosed with depression after finally getting some help. I wonder if you've considered consulting a therapist? Another option is talking to your family doctor. Suicide is NOT the answer. You'd leave behind a legacy of pain to those that care about you so please consider getting some help and of course, post here whenever you feel the need! Hugs, Lori
