Allie,


The reason you can't do the things you mentioned is because of the depression. It's not because you are a bad mom or wife or friend or employee or anything.


Even though I'm not around enough (until hopefully next week) to post the "today's triumph" post I want to you to think about the good thing you did every day whether that is just getting out of bed or something else. I know that depression makes us think worse and worse about ourselves and that the more you think about it the more you find things to beat yourself up about. It seems at times we put so much more weight on the things we didn't do, or didn't do right, than the things that you did do. For me getting up, showering and taking my meds are already 3 things on my "things i need to do to stay well" list. That's from the wellness recovery action plan if you haven't checked it out. I think it's a great tool and you should check it out if you haven't.


Try to look for the little things in your life that are positive and try to give them as much weight as the negatives, or more. They are definately worth more.
