Many women who have PMDD are being helped with antidepressants, and Prozac is one of the ones that are "proven" to help with it. However, Prozac, nor any of the others I've been on... hasn't helped. :( Some women just don't get ANY relief, and it's a matter of just trying more and more stuff. It's a vicious (literally) cycle.
I have been taking Welbutrin for only a week so far, so I can't say anything about it. Unfortunately this week has been a very bad week as far as the PMDD is concerned. I had to leave the house on Wednesday, I was so thankful that my friend Sue called me at the time, and she told me to get over there. I had to get away from the situation. And... I did. PLUS, I actually left a message for my therapist that night, and she called yesterday, I started to cry to her about what's happening with me this week. She told me that she'll have Alan come to a session with me soon to talk to him about what's going on with me, to give him ideas of what he could possibly do to help me during this time.
I want my period to come this weekend so I can start the Yaz, praying that it's my miracle drug. I'm going to ride it out during the next 2-3 cycles (that was my decision, it's going to be HARD) and then decide whether or not I should ask the psych for Prozac to take only during PMDD. (He talked about that with me... taking Prozac WITH the Welbutrin during that time.)
Vilija and her surgeries... it doesn't get easier. I was told by some that it would... but, really, I'm not stupid!
Later...
