yesterday i asked my almost 17 year old (the one i'm having the most problems with ) to do something and she looked at me and walked away. my dh happened to be walking around the corner and caught her and called her back she said no! he then told her she didn't have a choice she had better turn around appologise to me and do what she is supposed to do. and she did.

maybe just maybe she is starting to learn her lesson.

I hope she is "learning her lesson" but even if she isn't don't beat yourself up about it, it's not bad parenting. I think I know you well enough to say it's not your fault when things are rough with your daughter. Teenagers are hard to deal with. I know I live with 2 and one that's almost a teen. Hang in there, you're doing great!

Good for DH for putting his foot down and giving you the respect that you deserve! Hopefully it keeps up! Hugs, Lori

I think what helped me the most is that my dh heard the comment she made and he didn't let it slide and he backed me up. the joy i felt for that was wonderful. Him standing there and backing me up made me feel that he has been listening to me and is trying to hold my "wall" in place.

it's been an ok night tonight.
