How awful, it must have been very triggering to have this happen to someone you knew! I sometimes get sardonically amused by ignorant people reacting in the way those you saw did going "blah blah blah, I don't understand how anyone could do this..."

Are you okay now? Do you get any real life support from anyone besides your therapist?

(((Allie))) I posted that I was treated for depression & thoughts of suicide in another thread. Some people have a hard time with our illness. They don't look @ it for what it really is. Just as real

i haven't posted in a while and came to the boards tonight and saw your post. i hid my depression for a long, long time. especially from my family. my dh knew but that was it. when i attempted suicide, all that went out the window. for me, it has been very freeing for my family to know that i suffer from major depression. i don't have to always be 'on' with them. i can just be. the one thing that i have noticed tho is that they rarely ask me how i am feeling lol. guess they don't really want to know the answer to that one.
