Anyone see the Documentary Super Size Me

Its a terrific movie where the person goes from vegan (his partner is a vegan chef) to eating McDonalds 3 meals a day for one month.   He documents all his feelings, mental and physical, and is monitored by doctors.   I didn't realize the "additive" effect these foods have on people.   Its scary to think we're feeding kids this stuff from the time they can chew on their first french fry.

Its very interesting and I would recommend it.

I haven't seen the movie but I heard about it. It is disturbing that people don't really know what they are eating. I don't think that as many people would eat it if they knew. I didn't know. People never told me when I was growing up. Most people don't read the ingredients of the food they eat. They just think it's food. People are uninformed and uneducated on the health effects of the convenience foods that our society lives on.

Not yet... but I really really really want to. I've looked everywhere in our small town, and noone seems to carry it.

So frustrating.

you should get netflix!! you pay one monthly price (i think it's $17) and you can rent as many videos as you want, 3 at a time.

SuperSize me was great. But, by the way, Morgan Spurlock who made that movie was never vegan. His girlfriend is vegan, but he actually says that he loves fast food. In the beginning of the movie, he was psyched to eat the fast food, until it started making him feel so awful. I believe he did eat a vegan diet for like 6 months after the movie was made, to get his health and weight back to normal, but now he is an omni again, just a healthier eating omni.

I just watched the documentary, it was incredibly an eye opener! I never realized really how bad fast food was!!! Everyone needs to see this video!
Of course for some people it will go in one eye/ear and out the other. As soon as it was done my boyfriend was saying he ws going to get something at mcdonalds!
I've eaten fast food 4-7 days a week for the past 6 years and it has totally made me a fat zombie. For the past 4 days I've cut out meat AND fast food and I'm going thru withdrawls. But I'm going to stay strong and not give in!!!
So I may be posting alot on this board to avoid thinking about it!

Is Netflix an American thing? I'm up here north of the border, and I don't think we have it here...

Thanks though!

Can't say that the movie had the same effect on me. All the guy did was overeat. I read an article that said his daily caloric intake equaled that of six meals a day. The usual person does not eat that much so what he presented wasn't actually applicable to most people.
