What are some good brands of tofu for cooking. I'm thinking of recipes that I would have formerly used chicken, so that's sort of the texture I'm looking for. I'm familiar w/ the different textures and was wondering, being new to tofu is there a more appealing firmness that is a good entry? Also, is tofu ever sold w/ seasonings and which is best?

Thanks tons for any thoughts!

Hi All!

I have to say I am with both of you. I have prepared tofu in stir fries...1 in 10 seems to end in marginal success...lol. I have also used it in smoothies...easy. I laugh because I remember years ago buying my first block/tub of tofu. Brought it home and just kinda looked at it....thinking, now what??? I ended up tossing the first few purchases. I keep trying. I usually buy some prepared at my health food store. I love it, but haven't a clue;)

Thanks for the info Emily!
