What to do???

I know this board is 'vegetarian living' but here goes nothin. Im in a hardcore band. I right about half of the lyrics and the guitar parts to. Our singer is a vegetarian, Im a vegan, our bassist is at least against animal cruelty, but however big comma, our drummer is none of the above. when i was over at his apartment(two rooms) his two cats were getting close to my dd. I shoo'd them away but they came back he whipped a bottle at the cat and it ran away only to come back he got up and chased after the cat an picked it up he started yelling at it and it got scared and started clawing to get away it caught him good and ran under the bed. he chased after the cat to find it under the bed. he grabbed a broomstick and swung it under the bed repeatedly and jabbed under there trying to hit the cats who were trying to hide. this is a pretty regular occurrence I have no idea how to maintain our friendship/band and say something/ do something to make it stop. Add on top of this the fact that i recently penned lyrics with our singer for a song about choosing to be active in AR and choosing to become a vegan and to raise my dd with those same values and respect for all living life and he came down on me about at practice tonight...he said stuff along the lines of 'well i dont want play a song about or for vegans cause im not and i like meat and i never will be.' but at the same time not three weeks ago we were talking about how vivsection was sooooo wrong and wondering how any persson could say that that was what the did for a living. (lol talk about good dinner conversation.)so how do/what do i do im at a lose for works.

Well first of all
First, you say that his treatment of the cats is common? I'd say that you and the other band members need to decide whether you want to place anonymous calls to the authorities. You have three witnesses to his actions. Calling the Humane Society and finding out where to call if it's not them (there are people whose jobs are to deal with crimes against animals, though not always as many or as flashy as in the big cities shown on Animal Cops, so don't worry about wasting the time of the police). If he will do that in front of witnesses...
You will also need to talk with the other bandmembers about what you want your band to represent. He is not just a meateater, he has proven himself to be cruel to animals. I don't think that he will change. Do you want someone like that around you and your dd? Do the other members of your band want to be able to play music about things important to them or want one person to be able to veto (I assume you would be open to performing music important to one of the others, even if you didn't personally hold the belief)? Are the others concerned by his actions and attitudes?
We can't change others. We can take actions to protect the helpless and choose who we will have as friends, who we will work with on the things that are important to us, and who is worthy of being around us, and especially our families,
