Hello all!! I found this board the same way I found the PETA website lol through someones siggy on the teen moms board!!

A little about myself. My name is Kim(19) engaged to Andy(22) mommy of 2 beautiful baby girls (4&3) and expecting my third (andys first) in June.. I just recently turned to veganism.. (again thanks to the site I found on her siggy!!) it's been a little over a week for me and I am still getting some not so encouraging remarks from family.. Andy on the other hand has tried some vegan foods and actually likes them.. He even took to Silk choco soy milk!! Ok yea I guess thats my intro!

Oh yea I am so glad that you came here too!

People tend to make fun of what they don't understand. Did you request any pamplets off PETA's website? If you do that and give them the facts, they'll see why you decided to turn vegan.

If you haven't signed up for anything on PETA do it, they'll give you free stickers and information! Have you been to the doctor yet, to tell him about your decision?

What kind of vegan foods have you tried?

I have ordered the vegan starter kit and I went to peta2.com and am getting some things from there.. I printed off one of the iron on shirt things.. I got the red one that says vegan cause that will go good with the black shirts that I usually wear.. I've been limited on buying things so far but I LOVE the silk choco milk and so does Andy to my suprise he even liked the Boca spicy 'chicken' patties!!

That is so great.
I'm so glad that PETA provides the 'accidental vegan' list. It works wonders when you're grocery shopping and help your wallet too. The goveg.com site tells you how to make your own veggie burgers and whatnot. I'm not too found of veggie burgers at all.
Over the weekend I found a book at Borders that is about raising your kid vegetarian. It's in the parenting secion. I don't know if you are planning on rasing your children veggie at all?
What has Andy thought lately about your transition?
