I'm sorry I didn't think about semi-vegan!

I'm the only one in my house that are a vegan, so that helps out with the soy milk cost. DH drinks organic milk, that stuff is so expensive too. I just wish that helping out animals wasn't so costy. You think that it'd be the other way around.
Lately I've seen a lot of coupons in newspapers for soy milk. I guess that it's becoming a little popular.

Well I manage to budget decent for soy & other milks, but I haven't managed to figure out affording vegan cheese just yet.

I eat dairy and eggs :)
I'm not a big milk drinker, but I do love cheese. If there isn't any soy milk in the house, I'll put milk in my tea or occasionally have milk and cookies, lol. Only I buy Soy milk, I live at home with non-vegetarians... Soy milk is expensive; if it were cheaper I would buy it more often. I usually buy it once a month or something.

I get soy milk reguarly, even with the price. the way I figure it, the soy milk is "paid" by the share of meat I'm not eating

Oh I have never tried soy milk in my tea before! What kind of tea do you use it in?

I actually put it in a tea called Red Bush tea - it's herbal, and no caffeine, but you can put milk (or soy milk) in it, and sugar, and it's really good. I get mine at Loblaws, made by President's Choice, under the name Roobois, but that's in Canada... not sure where you live! :)

First time over to this board... I was a semi-vegetarian for 2 years, then ovo-lacto for 3, then back to semi-veg... when pregnant and nursing my 2 kids (still nursing #2) I craved meat so I ate it then... and we're going back to semi-veg outside of the house (mostly so we don't make friends feel they need to cook something totally unusual for their family if we are coming over), and will be ovo-lacto at home.

LOL~ long explanation there, eh?

Anyway, hopping over here to brush up on my veggie info, and be sure the meals I'm planning in the future are whole meals and as healthy as they need to be. :)

I voted lacto. I used to be lacto-ovo, but I haven't had eggs in at least 6 months and the thought of them isn't appealing to me anymore. No offense to someone who loves eggs, I used to love them too!

I'm pesco, eventually will be ovo-lacto. I have to be careful with my carb/protein balance due to hypoglycemia, so I'm making the transition gradually while I get used to new types of protein and get a better sense of how much whole-grain carb I can handle without a crash.
