Going to eat at restaurants with my parents is hard. I'm 28, but when I go out to eat with my parents, I might as well be a toddler for all the voice I'm given in picking where to eat. Prime example, on Friday we went out to eat and they picked Joe's Crab Shack. Now how many things can a vegetarian eat there?? I had my rare dairy fix in cheese sticks and then main course was parsley potatoes & black beans (which weren't adequately spiced). But going out to eat when I have some say, like with my SO, is fine. He's totally adjusted to me skipping the meat step at Mongolian barbeque... doesn't even tease me anymore lol.

I love Mongolian Barbeque, Applebees, and for going out with the ds Burger King

Yes! eating out can be a real challenge so we don't do it very much.
If I'm out with unexpectedly I can usually find a big salad and a vegetarian appetizer to feed myself.....even at a steak house!LOL!....sometimes these places have the best salads :))

We have a favourite Lebanese take-out place that makes great falafels for $1.99 each.
When we visit BF's mom we get pizza
When we want a special meal there is an East Indian place that has a great vegetarian meal for two under $30 !

I actually haven't found it hard to eat out (I was in Puerto Rco recently and that was tough I was very tired of beans and rice after that trip). Even steak houses (which I really haven't been to since I became vegetarian) will have a salad or baked potato.
All my freinds, my family and husbands family are very suportive. When we go out everyone makes sure there is stuff for me to eat. My father in law even makes vegetarian dinners when I go over so I can eat everything.
Resturants I like are anything Indian, Italian or Mexican, which all have tons of veggie choices. Chilies has a great bean burger that I crave every now and then. In Los Angeles we're lucky too cause we have lots of vegetarian resturants like Real Food Daily.

1. It's not hard for me to eat out if it's just DH and DS. When we go out with my parents, it always just seems like a waste of money to me. Like I hate going to Subway and paying $5.00 for a sandwich that has just veggies on it. My parents tend to go to homestyle restaurants. Which there is at least some kind of meat in everything on the menu besides desert and drinks. So I can usually get a salad. I always bring my own salad dressing when we go out. It seems like they usually only have ranch at the places we eat out, so I come prepared!

2. I really like to get Papa Johns pizza without any cheese. It's so yummy! I also love going to stir fry places. There is a place where I live that is called Stir Crazy and the food is great. Whenever I don't feel like cooking we usually spring for Taco Bell, because it's so cheap and right across the road from where I live.
