Friday five... a day early
20
Thu, 08-31-2006 - 10:41am

Well I'm going to be leaving early in the morning to drive down to my parents, hoping to avoid some of the Labor Day weekend traffic, tho much of it should be going North instead of South like me, thankfully. I'll have access to a internet-linked computer once there, but I'm not sure how much.

1- What's your favorite vegetable?

2- What's your favorite special vegetarian product?

3- Do you think your political stance lead you to being vegetarian or did vegetarianism lead to your vegetarianism? Or by chance, do you vegetarianism and political beliefs not have anything to do with each other :D?

4- What's your favorite color?

5- What are you drinking right now?

1- What's your favorite vegetable? broccoli

2- What's your favorite special vegetarian product? soy ice cream

3- Do you think your political stance lead you to being vegetarian or did vegetarianism lead to your vegetarianism? Or by chance, do you vegetarianism and political beliefs not have anything to do with each other :D? I'm not really sure how to answer this. LOL, I know I should since I came up with the question :D but it's so interrelated for me. My vegetarianism comes from and also was enhanced by my religious beliefs, growing pacifism, homeschooling, population thoughts, etc. All these things in my life just mesh together so well that it's hard to label what came because of what. Tho I did go back to vegetarianism after going to a friend's church for vegan cooking class (a friend I made because of homeschooling lol)

4- What's your favorite color? black

5- What are you drinking right now? nothing at the moment, but I did just finish a cup of sore throat tea and will probably make another cup in a second

I'm very particular about the fake meats I'll eat. Like I have yet to try a soy bacon that I like. But then, I'm of the mind, I'm a vegetarian, why should I have to eat food that's fashioned after meat. I do like garden burgers and boca burgers tho.

1- What's your favorite vegetable?

*** Tomato.

2- What's your favorite special vegetarian product?

*** Probably the vegie burger.

3- Do you think your political stance lead you to being vegetarian or did vegetarianism lead to your vegetarianism? Or by chance, do you vegetarianism and political beliefs not have anything to do with each other :D?

*** Too much to think about right now, lol. Um, I guess the whole animal rights thing lead me to being a vegetarian. I think most people who are like that are probably linked to a specific political party...Not 100% sure about that though.

4- What's your favorite color?

*** Dark green.

5- What are you drinking right now?

*** You with the drinks, lol! I'm drinking a margarita. Just kidding. I was drinking some water but I don't like to keep drinks by the computer cuz I'm a clutz and I've been known to spill.

LOL sorry about the questions :D maybe I should have stolen another board's past Friday Five, rather than coming up with my own, in my medicine head

political party is such a difficult one for me. I sympathize with many of the libertarian party platforms, but the main party that seems to champion homeschool rights is the republicans, which I strongly disagree with on most other things

I loved your questions! I didn't mean anything by saying I could not answer the political one. I'm just so spacey today. My dd started a new school last week and I've been a nervous wreck.

I know what you are saying about how one party will be in favor of an issue close to your heart, but other issues...forget it. I agree w/ most issues on one side, but the other side has maybe one or two that I also agree with.

1- What's your favorite vegetable? I don't just have ONE....I guess I'll say broccoli....but I love lots!

2- What's your favorite special vegetarian product? tempeh

3- Do you think your political stance lead you to being vegetarian or did vegetarianism lead to your vegetarianism? This is such a mixed bag for me. I was a liberal before I was a vegetarian, but my liberal beliefs helped lead me towards thinking about being a vegetarian. I haven't eaten red meat or pork since I was 8 though....so some of it is just taste! I used to call myself an independent, but I hate 99% of what the republicans are doing these days so I now call myself a democrat. I care about animal rights, regardless of party.

4- What's your favorite color? Pink & black

5- What are you drinking right now? lemonade....but I wish I had some white wine! LOL!

1. My favorite vegetable is brocolli-love broccoli soup, brocolli casserole, etc.

2. Favorite vegetarian product-tempeh! I love tempeh burgers and tempeh tacos. When DH and I were in college there was a vegetarian fast food type restaurant that used to serve a variety of sandwich styles with either tempeh or soy. It's closed now :(

3. Politics came first for me-minority rights led to LGBT rights which naturarally led to animal rights. Later I strayed away from vegetarianism, but when I became interested in spirituality this led to a belief in pacifism, environmental concerns and population control, which naturally led back to vegetarianism again!

4. Favorite color-purple

5. What are u drinking right now-chocolate milk

I so wish politicans wouldn't stick so strictly to their party platforms, but then I can't stand that 2 party political system that holds the reigns in the country.

Awww I hope the week's gone well from your dd. Changes can be so difficult
