What's the most unusual veggie (maybe from a foreign land) you've tried. How was it cooked? Did you like it?

My neighbor once brought me some nopalitos (prickly pear cactus skins) and I hated them!!!

Rotted boiled cauliflower in Japan. It stunk so bad that no one in their right mind would have wanted to taste it. So, okay, I wasn't in my right mind, but it didn't take long before I "righted" myself again. :)

I have no idea, Karla. I've moved so much that nothing seems unusual anymore!

I've had unusual foods but none were veggies (like duck and chicken feet and jellyfish tentacles in China, dried goat milk and camel meat in Saudi... all of which were, IMO, YUCKY!).

jicama and edamame. dd likes the jicama raw. The
frozen soybean pods I steam in the microwave and we pick
out the seeds to eat. We can't seem to deal with the
shells. Do people eat those?

Hm... I can't think of any veggies, but fruit yes. After using "Singapore Math" for several years of homeschooling, we had to try rambutans when we actually found some in our local grocery store. If I remember right, the skin had to be pierced so you could get the fruit out of the inedible skin.

I tried to get my ds11 to try jicama spears; he wouldn't have any of them after the first bite.

I don't know if it's all that unusual, but jicama is one that I've tried a few times and am not crazy about.
