Hello Ladies from England

I came over to say Hi after seeing Huala girls post about the new board system. As this is my first post here I don't know what has been said previously about the War with Iraq and I don't raelly want to get involved with that. However I am the cl- on Breast Cancer support here in England and we have several US ladies whom we love very much and hold in very high esteem, I have not heard any jibes about the American ppl in general (regardless of whether we agreed or disagreed with the war) I think the majority of British people's view was that the British, Iraqi and American people had no choice as to whether there was a war, it was, as it always is, down to the governments.

Enough said, now to the main reason I came over, the New Boards Aghhhhhhh. I know you Ladies have had longer to get used to them as ours were only introduced 10 days ago but boy what a storm they have created over here. We have been informed by ivillage.co.uk that we have to comply with ivillage.com because we use their techies. What a load of baloney, we do HAVE computer literate techies here. Anyway, what I wanted to ask is, Have ivillage.com listened to their ivillage members? Have they promised to make any changes to your boards? We HAVE been promised the new boards will be "improved" using the majority suggestions, it's how long we'll have to wait, and how many regular members we lose that is my concern.

Not sure what the time difference is but I'll pop back in later and hope to see some replies from you lovely ladies :-)

Love and Hugs to all,

Maggie

Hi Maggie,

These boards have been a problem for many, but I think we are getting used to them. I think it's been 3-4 weeks now since we got them. This board seems to be doing ok, but I have another board where I CL, "Over Forty and Loving It", where our posting is WAY down and I am concerned. The ladies there are a close-knit bunch but the new format has stopped them from posting very much. Hopefully time will help us all. Thanks for stopping by, you are welcome anytime. Hugs, Gabby

HI Maggie

I have been on vacation so have not read Hulagirls post yet but I am sure that everything was blown up a bit so don't worry we are so glad you decided to drop in and pay us a visit.

The new format has been a bit of problem here, it does take some getting used to but like it was when we all first came here we have to learn. We on this board have not lost a lot of our members so that is good and the changes are coming about slowly. Hang in there and try the best you can to calm everyone. This is the way it will be here at iVillage so in order to stay with them we all have to learn to use it. It does get so much easier the more you use it. Still not loving it myself, I prefer the old way but this is what we have to in order to remain online with my ivillage friends I use it. One day this will all seem easy as the old way was. Hugs to you hang in there.

We have no problems with our friends in Britain so come and visit us often.

Hugs and Love

Mary

Hello, Maggie! How exciting to hear from a cybersister across the big pond!

The format has been difficult for some members, yes, and we nearly lost a few! But with a little encouragement, they are still with us! I think you'll find in your group that there will be varying degrees of frustration with the changes. BUT, if they hang in there, like Mary said, in some time it will all be old hat like the old format.

I think at the beginning there were a few bugs and changes that iVillage took care of by suggestion of members, but for the most part, it is as they've designed it.

Please give our best regards to your board there!
