Awaken by an earthquake this morning!

Hi all! We had a rude awakening this morning about 5 am. An earthquake!! Interesting thing is that we are really quite a way away from the epicenter, but the house shook for several minutes and it was plenty strong enough to awaken dh and me!! It was just a "moderate" quake, but kind of disconcerting to those of us not used to it!!

Its a beautiful day here...expecting showers this evening, but sunny now.

I'm back into a composing mode....trying very hard to put at least one of Mindy's odes to music in time for the Las Vegas gathering. I'm no professional composer mind you, but this project has me inspired for the moment! Its the process that is fun...never know what the outcome will actually be!

Hope everyone is enjoying Spring...summer is right around the corner!!

Many hugs,

Sooze

Sooze I am so glad you were ok and I heard there was no damage from the earthquake there.

I just cannot wait to hear the music you have put to Mindy's ode. In fact I am getting so excited about our trip to Vegas. Cannot wait to meet you soon

Love

Mary

You know, just the other day, DD and I were talking about earthquakes and were wondering if your part of the country ever experiences them. Seems like out West here we get more than our share. Spose it's cuz we are on the edge of a techtonic plate here, but didn't think you all got that many. Do ya?

I think that is really neat that you are putting one of Mindy's odes to music! Then are you going to sing it at Vegas or have everyone sing it? How fun, and I'll miss it! boo hoo

Even earthquakes of the small variety are a bit disconcerting. Have experienced those...don't want to ever be involved in a big one!

I feel bad I won't be in Vegas to hear the song you compose. I've heard music you've composed and it's excellent, so I'm sure you'll more than do justice to one of Mindy's odes. Good luck with your project! Hugs! Kay

Sooze, I've experienced them, too, all are nerve-wracking

to me..one reason I'm content to just visit the West Coast

often.

Sooze, I was trying to see if anyone wants to do Karaoke for

2 or 3 hours in Vegas, but the gals in this morning's chat

all said they can't hold a tune...do you believe them lol.

I'm just an average singer but I thought it would be still fun.

oh well. love, cindy

Wow Sooze, an earthquake! That doesn't happen often out there. Glad you are fine!

Composing music for one of mindy's odes...That takes talent...I'm impressed!

I heard that the earthquake was in the Atlanta area. Are you near there Sooze? So happy you are ok. Those things do get your blood pumpin, don't they? I've never experienced a really big one...knock on wood. But we have little ones even here in the foothills/mountains.

Wow! A Mindy Ode set to music! I'll bring my hand held recorder if you plan on us singing it. That should be interesting! And fun!

Hugs.

Yikes, Sooze...what a way to start the day. I won't be in Vegas but would love to hear one of Mindita's odes set to music. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

Can't you afford an alarm clock:) What a way to wake up! We had an earthquake once here in and I thought it was a large truck driving down the street. The bed and windows shook. We east coast people are not use to quakes. I can't wait to hear your composition. I'm sure it will be wonderful. Hugs, Bernie

Holy cow, Sooze! What a way to wake up! I'm glad no one was hurt, hope the house is ok too. We get an earthquake every few years, haven't had one lately, I should probably knock on wood! LOL!

The composition sounds like a great project, can't wait to hear it!

Hugs, Pam

Wow, glad it wasn't worse? When you get up like that, do you have to run around and cut off the gas and get under doorways and things? I was in CA for awhile, and was in the grocery store when I heard this rumbling. It was like there was a roller skating ring above the grocery store. I, being from "back east" froze for a min, looked around at all the other people who were just going about their business, so I did the same. When I got back home, I turned on the news and they mentioned the tremors. I didn't stay to long after that...lol. Returned to the snow storms, lightening storms, etc...

Take care lady, Terry
