pretty good places! Can you find your city among the list below? This is from msn.com:

This year's 20 most polluted metropolitan areas are:

Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County, Calif.

Fresno, Calif.

Bakersfield, Calif.

Visalia-Tulare-Porterville, Calif.

Houston-Galveston-Brazoria, Texas

Sacramento-Yolo, Calif.

Merced, Calif.

Atlanta, Ga.

Knoxville, Tenn.

Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, N.C.-S.C.

Washington-Baltimore, D.C.-Md.-Va.-W.V.

Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas

Philadelphia-Wilmington-Atlantic City, Pa.-N.J.-Del.-Md.

New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, Conn.-N.J.-N.Y.

Phoenix-Mesa, Ariz.

Baton Rouge, La.

Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point, N.C.

Memphis, Tenn.-Ark.-Miss.

Birmingham, Ala.

San Diego, Calif.

And the 20 metro areas with the least ozone air pollution, in alphabetical order:

Bellingham, Wash.

Brownsville-Harlingen-San Benito, Texas

Colorado Springs, Colo.

Duluth-Superior, Minn.-Wis.

Elkhart-Goshen, Ind.

Eugene-Springfield, Ore.

Fargo-Moorhead, N.D.-Minn.

Flagstaff, Ariz.-Utah

Greeley, Colo.

Honolulu, Hawaii

Laredo, Texas

Lincoln, Neb.

Medford-Ashland, Ore.

Portland-Salem, Ore.-Wash.

Salinas, Calif.

San Francisco

San Luis Obispo-Atascadero-Paso Robles, Calif.

Santa Cruz-Watsonville, Calif.

Sioux Falls, S.D.

Spokane, Wash.

I was shocked that Spokane made this list because we're in a valley. Most of the winter they're begging us not to light our fireplaces.

Well now. This explains alot of things...lol. My brain is nothing but smog.

And I use a cell phone, drink the water here, and also worked at one of the Army bases in the area where they do testing. A short bit of the movie Outbreak was filmed at this base. LOL.

Have a good day. Hugs, T

I'm in one of the polluted ones...Knoxville, TN. Everyone here is quite aware of this and trying to look for ways to fix it. Unfortunately this area is also in a valley between the Cumberland Plateau and the Smoky Mtns. AND....we are the crossroads of two main travel arteries in the country...the intersection of I-75 and I-40. Another interesting, though sad, fact is that we are apparently "loving to death" the Great Smoky Mtn. National Park. It is the number one most visited in the country, but that brings major sources of pollution....people and cars, buses, campers etc. So.......no I'm not surprised that Knoxville made the "bad" list, but it is a shame for such a beautiful area of the country!!
