Beware of those hot peppers...

Last summer ds had a veggy garden and grew som red peppers just for dh (he knows how much dh likes peppers). Well, I had no idea what to do with them, so dh said just let them dry and then we'll eat them (you mean YOU'LL eat them). Anyway, I decided it was time to put those darn things away so I started cumbling them (I've no idea if this is what you're supposed to do, but I should have worn gloves). Talk abut HOT, I thought I washed my hands well when I was done, BUT when I touch my face it burned. Driving into town I made the mistake of rubbing my eye, thought I was going to have to find a bathroom to wash my eye out, it was burning and watering so bad. Got to where I was going and wash my hads again. An hour later, still burned if I touched my face...so washed again, boy, I hope that did it....moral of the story? DON'T GROW RED PEPPERS! LOL That's my moral anyway, haha. Now off to fight with my raspberry patch. Charlie

Oh yes, and the problem is that some are much hotter than others and can be on the same plant. Now those raspberries are another story, can get out of hand real quick. Good luck with your garden. Hugs, Gabby

Well, Mare, I'm not sure if it was the stickers or the hot peppers, but my backside was a bit prickly feeling last night, lol. Guess I need to wear thicker pants when I'm out in the weeds. Charlie

Gabby our patch is about 18 years old and talk about out of hand. I really didn't have a problem with it til about 5 years ago, and it's been one thing after another. To begin with dh kept "letting" new rows start. Then, knowing nothing about growing raspberries (what's there to know, they just grow right? LOL) I never "cleaned" them out. So by the time I realized the old ones were dieing out, they were beginning to become unmanageable. Since then we've had problems with drought, too much rain and last couple of years WEEDS. I told dh last night I'm ready to just spray the whole thing and be done with it....(of course, we'd have to transplant some of them, I love raspberries).

So that's part of the story, lol. Charlie

Poor baby! Are you all better now? Hey, I'll bet that's another use for vinegar...to wash your hands with after handling hot peppers! Hugs!
