Akiva is absolutely gorgeous! Very emotional few days here as you can imagine, but so far so good.

Akiva was born at 149 pm on April 30th, weighing in at 620 grams..we were told that was 1 1/2 lbs but it is actually 1 1/4 lbs. She is all there just very small. She is breathing pertty much on her own, but does have help if needed. We are to expect many ups and downs with her over the next few days, and of course she is no where near out of the woods yet. They figure she will be in the Special care unit for a few months yet.Nikki still has probelems with her BP but now the meds are helping her, when she was being medivaced to Vancouver her BP ws hovering around 205/110 and it never really did go down much and she was at the max for meds. The risk of her having seisur3es was too great and also the risk of a coma so for both Nikki and Akiva's sake they had to do the delivery!

I have a few pics, but they are not very good because the lights bother her and so they wanted most pics to be done without flash. Her feet are about the size of your end of your finger from tip to first joint.

Anyhow we just got home and we are so tired, but wanted to say I am one happy Grandma!

will be back tomorrow to add anything I probably forgot to tell!

Hugs, Lor

Thank God they are both ok! I know Your sweet dgd is not out of the woods but it sounds like such good news for her and Nikki. I know prayer can help and you can bet you had a lot of ladies and their families praying for them. (((Lori))) congratulations grandma!! Hugs and Love, Gabby

Lori, celebrating your little one's arrival and survival! What a miracle! I just can't imagine a baby that tiny after my nine pounders! So happy that she's able to breathe on her own, that must be a very good sign. Hoping that all goes well and she'll be home by summer's end! Give Nikki a very big hug for me!!! Congrats again, Nana!!

Love and hugs, Pam

Congratulations Nana and Nikki. I'm so glad they made it through and I agree that breathing on her own must be a good sign. I know she's still got a long way to go and will continue all those prayers. Thanks for taking the time to let us know, now you be sure to get some rest. (((hugs))) Charlie

Nana Lor you have one of the tiniest angels here on this earth. (m)

I know things will be touch and go for a while but she will be fine...I just know it! With so many people behind her and sending her prayers and special angels she will come out aokay just like little Mallorie. Sending you special ((hugs)) and please pass them on to the whole family.

Luv and Hugs, Ruthie

What wonderful news Lori! We can only imagine how emotional this was for everyone. I have been at the births of two of my dgs and I know how special that is for us grannies. This was doubly so for you. Many hugs for you and your family.
