Took a hike today......m

I have lived in Arizona now for three and a half years and my dh has been trying to get me out into the desert for a hike since the day we moved here. I am not really an outdoor person. I love the pool but going camping or out into the desert is not my thing. Still cool here we have not had a triple diget day yet this year and the temps have remained in the low 80 for most of this spring. Dh spent the day yesterday assuring me the snakes would not be out yet and that we would stay on a well used trail, he would go first and if he saw a snake he would make sure we walked a good distance away from it. So finally I agreed to go. It was beautiful and we went this morning before the sun has reached it peak so it was not to hot. I think I could get used to hiking on trails that are well used and when it is still early enough for the snakes to not be out much yet. We were hoping to see some of the wild donkey's that are around here but seems they heard us first and went into hiding. Saw lots of lizzards and maybe the nest of an Eagle way up on a cliff. It was so quite you could almost hear the wind blowing. I really don't think I will turn into a big nature lover and suddenly want to go camping but this was nice and I really did enjoy it. We were only out there for about three hours and walked a trail of a mile and a half. Maybe he can talk me into another hike in another three years LOL.

Hope everyone is enjoying your Saturday.

Love to all

Mary

Mary, That sounds so cool! I do like to camp and hike so your walk in the desert sounded marvelous! I do like the desert. Have done some hiking in desert areas around Vegas and in Utah. It is lovely! Get yourself out there again lady!...lol

Mare, I'm proud of you! For me, as long as I know exactly

what to expect when I do outdoorsy stuff and I have a good

hat on for sun protection, I'm okay with it.

Oh yea, and if the critters stay away from me, lol.

love,

Cindy

p.s. I do miss camping; would love to at least once every

few months.

Mare it sounds like a nice walk. I wouldn't mind that at all:) Don't worry snakes try to avoid people as much as possible and only bite if they feel threatened. I know, Big Whoops.

Bernie it is only the rattlesnakes that I mind and as long as they stay out of my way then no problem. Believe me there is no way they are more afraid of me they scare me to death.

Hey, Mare, congrats on trying something different and out of your comfort zone. Hey, I bet now that you've quit smoking, you had lots more wind for hiking, too, eh?

Well, about time, girlfriend!!! All that gorgeous desert and you just lounge by the pool!!! LOL! Actually, I give you credit, I would not be going out amongst the reptiles!! No way, no how!!! And don't forget the nasty scorpions, too. :(

So glad you haven't killed dh yet, how's the retirement going? Getting used to sharing all your time? That was the hardest part for me when Mike got sick. I liked my alone time. Of course, now I'd give anything to see him in his chair again!

Take care, and see you soon!

Love and hugs, Pam
