Took a hike today......m

I have lived in Arizona now for three and a half years and my dh has been trying to get me out into the desert for a hike since the day we moved here. I am not really an outdoor person. I love the pool but going camping or out into the desert is not my thing. Still cool here we have not had a triple diget day yet this year and the temps have remained in the low 80 for most of this spring. Dh spent the day yesterday assuring me the snakes would not be out yet and that we would stay on a well used trail, he would go first and if he saw a snake he would make sure we walked a good distance away from it. So finally I agreed to go. It was beautiful and we went this morning before the sun has reached it peak so it was not to hot. I think I could get used to hiking on trails that are well used and when it is still early enough for the snakes to not be out much yet. We were hoping to see some of the wild donkey's that are around here but seems they heard us first and went into hiding. Saw lots of lizzards and maybe the nest of an Eagle way up on a cliff. It was so quite you could almost hear the wind blowing. I really don't think I will turn into a big nature lover and suddenly want to go camping but this was nice and I really did enjoy it. We were only out there for about three hours and walked a trail of a mile and a half. Maybe he can talk me into another hike in another three years LOL.

Hope everyone is enjoying your Saturday.

Love to all

Red I guess I do have more wind now. I still miss smoking though even now when it has been almost 15 months, Probably always will. Those days are in my past now though. It was fun but not something I would want to do all the time.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Hope you do take more of those nature hikes before it gets too hot. Do you have binoculars to take along? Then you could see that nest! Spring time in the desert is amazing. I wanted to go visit my dmil in AZ before it gets too hot but don't think that will happen...too much going on here.

Have a lovely day sweet Mary. Hugs

Cappy we did have the binoculars with us and we could see a little with them but the angle we had to look at it was not the best and so we were not sure it was an Eagle. We have the golden eagles around here. It sure was a big nest though. Cappy it is getting hotter as I type this today. Heading upward in the tempertures now. Suppose to hit those triple digets by Tuesday.

Mary, the hike sounds like it was fun. Have never hiked in the desert but have in the woods frequently. Also on a trail with signs that said "Beware of Rattlesnakes". That did give me second thoughts. lol

Iv'e heard the desert at night is awesome. Aren't the snakes sleeping then? Would like to see it sometime.

Mare, I think we could get along. My idea of camping includes roomservice. lol

Hugs,

Rain the stars at night here are awesome. I think the entire time I lived in the midwest I was only in the woods a handful of times.

Yep Rain roomservice and a maid. LOL
