It is a gorgeous day in Tennessee with clear skies, sunshine and just the right temp (about 75-78) today! I've been lazy this morning, but got to get moving and get some errands done.
We had a great weekend. Saturday ds#2 graduated from the University of Tennessee. The ceremony itself was long, but I love the tradition and pageantry....gave me goosebumps! They also commissioned the ROTC students as officers in the military and they were given a long and loud standing ovation. It was something to see! There were 2,400 graduates and about 22,000 people in the arena!!! After the ceremony (which was at 9:00 am) we took the whole family including grandma, aunt and uncle and ds's girlfriend to a really nice restaurant for lunch. It was a special day. Oh yes...I must brag....ds graduated Summa Cum Laud (highest honors). We are so proud of him! This is a kid who basically thought only about playing basketball in high school, but somehow managed to come alive in college and excel! Now he has a little break before entering the career world with a new job starting June 9.
After the big Saturday, Mother's Day was nice, but a little quieter. I had major responsibilities at church Sunday morning as it was our day to honor not only mothers, but our youth and particularly our graduating high school seniors. Our youth choir sang and all three of my youth handbell choirs rang selections. They did a super job and I was proud of all of them. My family did get together for lunch again that day.
Oh goodness...hit the wrong button and posted this before I was ready...never tried this edit thing...lets see how this works??? Think I'll start another post before I lose this one? ACkk!
